This book provides a basic foundation in the information available, research performed and policy agendas required concerning Hispanics. The book is organized into four sections: the first establishes the historical, demographic, and cultural context of the new migrants. The second describes the major issues in the process of becoming integrated into the American social structure. The third discusses the major themes for the new policy agenda. And finally, the work concludes with two chapters concerned with problems of implementing this new agenda.
