Some very slight edge wear to top and bottom of jacket and spine, corners very slightly rubbed and bruised, some very slight yellowing to largely white jacket, not price clipped (£8.95), no inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall a vg+ copy. 144pp, lavishly illustrated. Thomas Charles Renwick Adams (1926-2019), was a, American Anglo Scots illustrator and painter. He is known for his work in book cover art, portrait painting, poster, advertising and album art. He is most widely known for his book cover art for the paperback editions of Agatha Christie. He is also known for his science fiction art, including '2001: A Space Odyssey' and 'Flash Gordon' with Nic Roeg and Mike Hodges. In music, he did covers for Lou Reed's self titled album and Iron Maiden's compilation 'Edward the Great'. Adams executed the artwork for the paperback cover of John Fowles' (who wrote the Foreword for this book) 'The Collector', but is chiefly known for his work on the paperback copies of Agatha Christie's detective novels. His first was 'A Murder is Announced' in 1962. The text is by detective writer, poet and commentator Julian Symons (1912- 94). A scarce, large and important book.
