First Edition Signed
First edition, first printing, of this overview of Popper's philosophy, from the Library of Living Philosophers series; association copy, each volume with the ownership signature to the front free endpaper of Adolf Grünbaum (1923-2018), German-American philosopher of science and a critic of Popper's own work in the field. Grünbaum firmly opposed Popper's view of psychoanalysis, chiefly that psychoanalytic claims could not be falsified, and published his influential Foundations of Psychoanalysis in 1984 substantially in opposition to Popper's views. Two volumes, octavo. Original blue cloth, spines lettered in gilt, gilt facsimile signatures to front covers. With dust jackets. Fine copies, in very good jackets, slight shelfwear and short closed tears at extremities, lightly toned, prices intact.
